Question 13.
Question 13: The International Auditor found that Local Union President Carlos Rangel was guilty of misappropriation of funds in the amount of $2,728.67.
The Department of Labor was asked to come into the Local and audit the books due to suspicious actions of the President, Carlos J. Rangel. It was determined during the period of October 1, 2014 through August 31, 2015 that the President misrepresented claims for lost time and received monies from the Local Union which he was not entitled in the amount of $2,728.67. On September 1, 2016 Carlos Rangel made restitution and the amount of $2,728.67 was refunded to the Local Union. The Financial Secretary receipted and deposited the repayment into the Local's treasury upon receipt of payment. The Misappropriation was originally discovered By local 3212 Office and Trustees and they reported to the Int'l Auditor
